What is GDPR?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the culmination of many years of negotiation and discussion between the EU member states to unify privacy and security law across the continent. It is to be layered upon existing national laws which were fragmented since the last attempt to do this, the UK’s version was the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA).
While the law has been in place since 25th May 2016, it came into enforcement on 25th May 2018.
